Fronté will introduce new winter pieces including the reversible kimono coat for the first time at The Design Museum Market 2017, organised by Designers/Makers,Design Museum and design junction with fifty designer/makers in the new Design Museum sited in Kensington in its stunning new building.
The reversible kimono coat is a reinterpretation of a historical kimono mixed with military style parka. The outside shell is made from 100% Italian wool and the reversible side of lining is made with bamboo silk. Fronté clothes are designed to last not only functionally but also aesthetically. Life is busy. Simplify the wardrobe with just a few pieces of elegant, minimal and versatile clothes that make you quietly stand out from the crowd year after year.
DESIGN MUSEUM MARKET COMPETITION To celebrate the launch of the new pieces for winter Fronté have teamed with up designers/makers, The Design Museum and design junction to offer a chance to win some goodies.
The prize also includes a pair of tickets for the Beazley Designs of the Year and Ferrari: Under the Skin exhibitions, the competition will close at 17:00, Friday 1 December. The winner will be notified on Monday 4 December and will have five working days to accept the prize before another winner is selected. Only UK entries will be accepted.
THE DESIGN MUSEUM MARKET Visitors will have the opportunity to meet the designers and view, buy or commission products for the festive season at the Design Museum Market, with a beautiful selection of fashion, jewellery, ceramics, glassware, textiles, homewares and graphic design, everything from original stocking fillers to stand-out gifts.
At the same time as visiting the Design Museum Market you can also pop in to see the Beazley Designs of the Year, a carefully curated selection of 2017’s best designs spanning six categories: architecture, digital, fashion, graphics, product and transport. See the Pussyhat, symbolising solidarity for women’s rights and political resistance and the Refugee Nation Flag, created to represent the first team of refugee athletes at the 2016 Rio Olympics. Nominated by renowned academics, critics and designers, each project has been recognised for its outstanding contribution to design.
Ferrari: Under The Skin explores Ferrari’s powerful personality, the design and manufacturing process and the future of the luxury car brand from the very first Ferrari to Michael Schumacher’s winning Formula One car and the newest hybrid model. In addition the Designer Maker User collectionoffers a free taster of its collection featuring over 1,000 objects, an introduction to the history of contemporary design. The Jon Snow: Colour Is My Brand exhibition offers a glimpse of vivid colour from one of the UK’s last tie-making companies. The Designers in Residence 2017 exhibition features a selection from four designers; Soomi Park, Chris Hildrey, Studio Ayaskan and Yinka Danmole.
Fronte is pleased to announce it will be showing at the London Artisan during London Design Festival at the Truman Brewery on 16th & 17th September 2017 as part of a curated marketplace from Designers/Makers. Founded in 2010, Designers/Makers has grown from a local design market in Hackney, London into an agency supporting freelance designers. …
