Fronté is a London-based womenswear brand established in 2016 by Jiyun Lapthorn.
I wanted to rethink the idea of good clothes and improve the conventional construction of clothes.
I am inspired by strong women, independent thinkers whose life reveals an original vision. I like to make useful tools so I make transformable unique clothes that are designed to be worn in multiple ways. Deceptively simple shapes are comfortable but not obvious and both practical and sensual. Eventually, I like my clothes to become invisible to others but the wearer, the purpose of my creation is making you feel confident and uplifted.

All Fronté garments are produced in London with fabrics that are pre-washed before cutting and sewing, therefore only small quantities are made at once. Fronté lives through an ongoing lifelong search for creating your favourite clothes to keep, forever.

“I chose to slow down to make garments properly and inventively.”

Nicola Roberts is doing her bit too, last night sitting front row at London College of Fashion’s MA show, Beautitude.

“It’s amazing – to see these ideas and what they’re creating. There’s a real spark among them. It’s brilliant to support young talent. I was thinking what happens to the outfits now?” Roberts, hopeful and clearly impressed said after the show. “I really liked the feminine pieces, and in particular the Lapthorn dresses” – exquisite inky draped numbers from womenswear student, Jiyun Lapthorn.Vogue - Jessica Bumpus

I have always been interested in draping and the movement of human bodies.
